Sawayama Group promotes various initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of society.

Recognizing our responsibility as a company with over 100 years of history, we are working together with local communities at home and abroad to protect the global environment.

This collaboration with local communities often has the added benefit of stimulating economic development in regional areas.

In 1917, the Nagasaki region suffered through an unprecedented water shortage crisis. Sawayama founder, Seihachiro Sawayama, made the decision to distribute water from the company’s privately owned well in Doinokubi village. Although this water was for selling to ships that visited Nagsaki Port, Seihachiro distributed it to his fellow Nagasaki citizens free of charge.

Following in the footsteps of our company founder, we are always striving to make a similarly meaningful contribution to society.
